Do you think the Sex Scandal involving CIA Director Petraeus is used to distract the public?

Do you feel that CIA Director David Petraeus and the issues surrounding the Sex Scandal is barricading the public from the answers to the real questions over the situation in Benghazi, Libya? Is it taking the attention off the real issue and placing this scandal at the front of what America really needs to know?

While I think the timing is suspect - the fact remains he had an affair and it is now public.  I think once this scandal dies down, we will get back to the outrage over Benghazi and find some answers.

I hope at some point we get to the bottom of the Benghazi incident as it was such a tragedy.

No I don't think it is a cover up for Benghazi, but it all maybe linked because people who should have had their eye on the ball were too busy playing grab ass to do their jobs correctly.

The media has done a great job of focusing on the sex side instead of the 4 dead Americans and why they waited 7 hours for help that never came.  And more importantly why it is the President lied to the public to make the Al-Quaeda network looked disabled, when they are gaining strength all over the region.  Clearly he didn't want this story to pop up before the election.  So it seems highly probable he held this sex scandal over the head of the CIA director to get him to spew the same nonsense about some phony video.  Unless ofcourse you believe that his own attorney general kept this a secret since last summer.  If so, then he didn't now about Petraeus...he didn't know about fast and furious....he didn't know about anything apparently.  Then what does he know other than going to parties with celebrities.

    Wait a minute...Benghazi must be Bush's fault.

I do think people assume the President knows everything going on,  But  I am a firm believer the CIA has been doing their own thing for many years and especially when you have a head who may not have all that much faith in the Commander and Chief.

There is no way I believe that one of the Presidents best friends Eric Holder didn't tell him they had the CIA chief under investigation.  Too Far fetched for me to believe.

Not just the scandal. Now we have hearings with no questions and follow up questions of substance being asked. Why wasn't she informed that they needed help in time. Even if it's true that the embassy was a front for military & covert actions in the area, those people deserved more. The first being full protection when in a dangerous zone working for our government. Personally it feels like we have our hands in so many pots we can't keep track of them all. We are spread out so thin and involved in so many other countries issues, politics and trying to shape things to benefit " our" agendas and interests. It seems like we are falling behind on our own issues such as the war on poverty, homelessness, foreclosures, building our infrastructure, bank fraud and veteren's affairs. Dee
